Full Description
Part of the circuit of a ring ditch was exposed during an evaluation excavation by Wessex Archaeology in 2001. This ring ditch is projected to be about 12 m in diameter. The ditch had concave sloping sides and a flat bottom, filled with dark brown sand. No finds were recovered. The ring ditch is likely to be the remains of another, previously unrecorded Early Bronze Age round barrow, part of an extensive barrow cemetery at Hengistbury Head. (1)
