Full Description

The remains of an Anderson Shelter were found during an evaluation and subsequent watching brief to the rear of 42 South Street, Bridport, undertaken by Exeter Archaeology in 1999 (1). The shelter had been levelled and covered by a rockery. It was 3m long by 1.7m wide and 0.9m deep. There was a thin layer of concrete at its base and the sides were unlined. It had been backfilled with the remains of the corrugated iron superstructure and other building debris. (1)
