Summary

A contracted inhumation in a scoop at the base of a shallow pit. It was interpreted as being of Roman date, and part of a cemetery known from other finds in the vicinity.

Full Description

A contracted inhumation, probably not earlier than the 3rd or 4th century AD was found in 1935 near the hill crest (SY66338100), lying east-west with the head to the west in a scoop at the base of a shallow pit. {1}
