Pottery and worked flint and two modern linear features revealed during Fieldwalking and trial trenching

Map

Type and Period (1)

Full Description

Many small sherds of pottery undated but several sherds clearly of Late Iron Age/Roman and Medieval date. Little of the worked flint is diagnostic and appears to derive from a relatively crude technology which occurs locally during the later prehistoric period. Two linear features containing fragments of modern ceramic sewer pipe revealed in machine excavated trenches. Likely to relate to WWI army camp in area (1)
