Site of pier, probably for stone shipping. Recorded in 1772 as ‘Cheen Pier’ (1) and named ‘Church Hope Chine Pier’ in 1800 (2). The 1863 surveyed 25-inch map shows ‘Crane’, with ‘Chene Pier’ written over. (3)
