This Portland Purbeck freestone quarry lies 200m east of Seacombe and has been cut out of the cliff. The area of the quarry is approximately 50m by 20m. It was called ‘Pig and Whistle, although the reason for the name is unclear century (Saville 1986, 8). This quarry closed down in the early 20th century.
