Summary

Wareham cement works, shown on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1885 and 1900. Buildings and structural remains of Wareham Cement Works at Ridge are also visible on aerial photographs taken in 1959. The site has since been built over by a modern housing development.

Full Description

Wareham Cement Works, shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885 [1], also shown on the map of 1900. [2]

Buildings and structural remains of Wareham Cement Works at Ridge are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1959 (3). These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (4), having since been built over by a modern housing development.
