An old gravel pit shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885 <1> also shown on the map of 1900 <2>
A pit is visible as an earthwork on Lidar imagery of Holme Lane Plantation, East Holme <3>. It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval gravel pit described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
