Full Description

A thick slightly 'L' shaped timber about 60 cm long with an angle of about 110 degrees was found on Bournemouth beach and is dated to the nineteenth century. Two treenail holes are present which enter obliquely. The timber is the lower end of a sternpost assembly of a medium sized coastal vessel, probably around 40 ft long but perhaps slightly larger.
