Summary

A curvilinear ditch and associated bank are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of floodplain located at South Middlebere, Arne. It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval drainage ditch. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.

Full Description

A curved linear feature visible on an aerial photograph taken in the 1940s. This feature was interpreted as a ditch, but its date and function are not known. (1)

A curvilinear ditch and associated bank are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of floodplain located at South Middlebere, Arne (2-3). It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval drainage ditch. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
