Almshouses (1549) (NAT) <1>
John Tudbold, by will dated c. 1548, gave two almshouses for use of the poor, vested in the mayor, burgesses and parish officers ... <2>
Almshouses (details as above) situated at the extreme end of Church Street (north). They consist of four distinct dwellings. <3>
Tubold almshouses are administered by the corporation and registered as a charity (b). A plaque on the building reads Built MDXLVIII. Rebuilt by subscription AD 1887. The present building bears no trace of antiquity. <4>
