Abstract/Summary

Wessex Archaeology carried out an evaluation of land to the south west of Dorchester proposed for the planting of native hardwood trees and bushes. Three areas were assessed by machine trenching; west of Bush Cottage, Maiden Castle Road; East of Maiden Castle car park; and east of the A35 by-pass and north of Maiden Castle Road. No features were found in the first two trenches. The third trench revealed two ditches.
