Abstract/Summary
Observation and recording took place at the rear of the above property as a response to building development. Foundation trenches approximatley 1m wide x 1.2m deep were excavated by machine and cleaned by hand. The soil horizon consisted of black humic soil overlaying yellow sand and in places, natural clay.
Three pits dating from the medieval and post medieval periods were recorded in section along with a possibly 19th century well and a modern brick inspection pit from the time when the premises were used as a garage.
