Abstract/Summary
Miller’s Farm lies in the north of the parish of Mordon, near to Wareham. Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to undertake an archaeological watching brief during the construction of a new dairy building in the existing farm. The aims of this brief were to ensure the monitoring of invasive groundworks, and the adequate recording and reporting of any archaeological deposits which were revealed. No man made features were identified during the observations, though 32 pieces of worked flint were found, including a scraper of probable Late Neolithic or Bronze Age. Two pieces of pottery were recovered from the surface of the stripped layer as well. No evidence was found for buried archaeological remains or features within the development area. The small finds located are consistent with the known prehistoric activity in this area.
