Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation consisting of two machine-excavated trenches was undertaken by Ac archaeology on land at Okeford Hill, Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset, in December 2010. The work was undertaken in support of a planning application for the construction of a proposed relocation of racehorse training facilities. The site had been considered to have archaeological potential as it seemed to include an artificial terrace possibly of some antiquity. The trenches established that the proposed site of the training facilities was situated in an area of extensive modern infilling, to a depth of at least 2.8m below the present ground surface.'
