Title | Summary Report on an Archaeological Watching Brief Carried Out during the Construction of Two Buildings at Blandford Camp, Tarrant Launceston Parish, Dorset |
Author/Originator | Cox, P W |
Date/Year | 1994 |
Abstract/Summary
AC Archaeology carried out a programme of archaeological observations and recording during site clearance for construction of two new buildings at Blandford Camp, Dorset, in November 1994.
No archaeological results were obtained from the site of Building 33; the site of Building 39 exposed a layer of modern soil and gravel. Removal of approximately 40 % by area of this deposit exposed further modern features, service trenches and structural footings. Two small fragments of probably Romano=British pottery were recovered from topsoil at the east end of the site, nearest to the Roman settlement zone.overlying
