Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was carried out in the location of proposed drainage works around walls of the Parish Church of St Mary, Tarrant Crawford, in April 1995. The evaluation comprised the excavation by hand of six trial pits against selected sample areas of the church walls, followed by detailed recording of the exposed deposits. The evaluation suggested that the original foundations had been subject to widespread underpinning, and also that burials exist directly adjacent to the church walls.
