Abstract/Summary
‘Wessex Archaeology, was commissioned by, the Trustees of Dorchester Opportunity Group, through their agents Cube_Design, (the Client), to undertake an archaeological evaluation in advance of development on land adjacent to the Prince of Wales School, to the north of Maiden Castle Road, Dorchester, centred on National Grid Reference 368028, 089525.
A total of 5 machine excavated trial trenches (20m x 1.6m) comprising a 5% sample of the available Site area were excavated between 23rd and 26th of June 2008.
No significant archaeological features or finds were recorded during the evaluation and only geological anomalies, in the form of periglacial features, were observed and recorded.’
