Abstract/Summary

‘Terrain Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological observations and recording during topsoil stripping for a new Purbeck limestone quarry, subsoil storage area and haul road at Keates Quarry, Home Field, Acton, Langton Matravers, Purbeck, Dorset. No archaeological features were present but a localised scatter of struck flint, probably of Middle- or Late Bronze Age date, was identified in the northeastern corner of the site. Other sparse topsoil finds spanned the Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval and modern periods, and probably result from manuring of agricultural land.’
