Abstract/Summary

‘Terrain Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological observations and recording during the construction of a new road and footpaths in an extension to Upton Country Park. This revealed a series of medieval boundary ditches, perhaps representing fields associated with a small farm on the heathland at the edge of Holes Bay. These ditches are probably 13th–14th century in date, though a small quantity of 10th–12th century pottery hints at earlier activity. To the north of these ditches were some indications of possible clay or cob structures and hearths of possible medieval date.’
