Abstract/Summary
In December of 2021 Cotswold Archaeology undertook a two phase excavation of a site before it went under development. The site, at Lodden Lakes, Gillingham, comprised of 13 trenches. Trenches 1 through to 5 and 13 to 14 were archaeologically sterile with artefactual material dating to the medieval and Post-medieval period being recorded from an alluvial deposit (604) beloning to Trench 6. Archaeological features consisting of ditches (Trenches 7 to 11) and a burnt flint deposit (Trench 7) were recorded in plan, but could not be excavated due to localised flooding.
