Date/Year | 2021 |
Abstract/Summary
The aim of this report is to produce a record of the property and its setting. This was undertaken by visual examination of the building and surrounding areas as well as a survey of readily accessible documentary sources.
This Heritage Analysis details the building and its history including the outbuildings believed to be former stabling and garage.
From historical records there are mentions of 'Horse and Jockey' in an 1862 census but the existing building is belived to be Edwardian, dating 1906, with strong influences from the Arts and Crafts movement of the time.
At the time of survey, part of the building has already been demolished so historical analysis or historic interior fabrics in limited but architectual detailling is still clear.
It is believed that that the Horse and Jockey public house has stood at this site well before the current Edwardian building.
