Abstract/Summary
Context One carried out an evalution on an area of proposed development which lies in the historic core of Bridport. There is potential that the site lies on the boundry from the original saxon village and the medieval expansion. There is desk-based evidence for buildings on this site including a bakery and dairy from the latter half of the 20th century. At the time of this evaluation the site was clear of all former buildings and the results demonstrated that modern activity on the site has removed any significant archaeological remains that may have existed.
