Description

Observations and recording during the mechanical excavation of seven geotechnical test pits. The pits were excavated by quarry staff using a tracked excavator with a toothed bucket. The weather was poor and ground visibility was moderate but sufficiently good for any archaeological finds and features present to be seen. No finds, deposits or features of archaeological significance were recorded. Two hollows may be evidence of small-scale quarrying.
