Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording by Context One Heritage and Archaeology during groundworks for the installation of a below ground oil tank, reduction of levels to create a patio area, creation of a parking area, excavation of a service trench, and construction of a garden pavilion and glazed extension. This was a requirement of planning consents (WD/D/18/001394 & WD/D/18/001395) and Scheduled Monument Consent (S00214069, Appendix 1). The work confirmed the results of an evaluation which suggested that the area south of the Manor House had been disturbed by modern landscaping and installation of services close to the building. No archaeological features or deposits were observed.
