Description

Evalation of an area north of the new Norden roundabout and beside the Norden-Slepe Farm road; approximately 0.2ha. Geophysical survey data revealed six anomalies of possible archaeological origin, and 1m x 1m trial pits were located on these anomalies. Two linear anomalies were field drains. The only finds recovered were from the topsoil. The overall soil profile depths were deeper towards the north-east end of the field, though this did not seem to be associated with any archaeological activity. Activity associated with the Romano-British site at Norden east of the roundabout did not seem to extend into the area.
