Monument record MDO1372 - Winterbourne Poor Lot: bowl barrow

Bronze Age bowl barrow forming part of the Winterbourne Poor Lot Barrow Group. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 30 feet in diameter with a mound about 1½ feet high. It has been disturbed in the middle, presumably in the course of antiquarian investigation.

‘(8) … (c ) bowl barrow, 35 yards E. of (a), is 30 ft. in diam. and 1½ ft. high; it has been disturbed in the middle;’

‘This bowl barrow has been ploughed flat and the diam. of the mound, represented by a scatter of flints, is un-surveyable due to the close proximity of 8d and 8f. Planted in grass and grazed by a flock of sheep when visited. 7/6/E.’
