Monument record MDO1389 - Bowl barrow on White Hill, Littlebredy

Five bowl barrows on arable land. D is large, 30 paces in diameter and 7 ft high. The other four barrows are from 12 to 19 paces in diameter, and from 6ins to 3 ft high. <2>

Five ditchless bowl barrows on arable land:-
A. Diameter 22.0m, height 1.0m.
B. Diameter 14.0m, height 0.4m.
C. Diameter 19.0m, height 0.5m.
D. Diameter 30.0m, height 2.0m.
E. Diameter 11.0m, height 0.4m.
Barrows D and E are at present wholly or partly grass covered; the others have recently been cleared of crops. <4>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow lying at SY5923889238. The barrow is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <7-8> and is 15m across. It was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

This deeply ploughed mound has been spread to 18.0m in diameter and 0.2m in height. Slightly lighter clay matrix where the mound extant. In rotation arable for dairy herd. 1/5/D
