‘The following monuments unless otherwise described are of one storey and attics with cob walls and thatched roofs. … (11) COTTAGES, four, have walls of rubble, cob and brick; one, of 17th-century date with rubble and some brick refronting to the ground floor and cob beneath the eaves, has a stone chimney-stack at the N. end; the other cottages were built in the 18th or 19th century.’
