Full Description
An inhumation burial was found in the Corporation Yard, Poundbury Road (now in Top o'Town car park) in 1931. The skeleton was extended and aligned E-W. The right arm was across the chest and had a twisted wire copper alloy armlet. Five nails were also found suggesting a coffined burial. No trace of a grave cut was identified, but the burial was laid out in what was described as a 'wide ditch' running N-S. [1]
