Summary

A watching brief at Christchurch Priory , Christchurch, during 1985, recorded the foundation of part of the priory cloister block. The main evidence for this was a single course of ashlar rubble and mortar which was truncated by a large rubble filled soakaway.

K. Jarvis conducted a watching brief at Christchurch Priory, Christchurch, during 1985 during the excavation of foundations for a link building between Priory House and the Priory Church. The results were subsequently published as a short note in PDNHAS volume 107 (1).

The watching brief recorded the foundation of part of the priory cloister block. The main evidence for this was a single course of ashlar rubble and mortar which was truncated by a large rubble filled soakaway.
