Full Description
In December 1997, Wessex Archaeology undertook an archaeological watching brief during groundworks for the construction of houses 1 to 7 on land at St. Anthony’s Convent.
No features or archaeological deposits were observed during topsoil stripping and only three late post-medieval features were observed in the footings trenches. These included an 18th-19th century pit in the area of house 2, a 19th century dump in the area of house 6 and a 20th century pit in the area of house 1 [1].
