Listed Building record MDO23191 - Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, South Street, Dorchester

Site of Wesleyan chapel built in 1875. Architect: W S Allardyce. Rockfaced rustication. Ashlar details. Giant order of 4 Tuscan pilasters taking modillioned pediment (of which the sloping sills have both egg-and-dart and acanthus ornament). Between 2 central pilasters, round arch (with 1 order of fluting and 1 of egg-and-dart) breaks upwards framing 3 grouped lancets with round arches and cable moulding on slender colonnettes. Demolished 1983. <3>
