Monument record MDO29064 - Second World War gun emplacement, slit trenching and barbed wire enclosure, Studland

A group of Second World War features, probably associated with coastal defence, are visible as structures on aerial photographs of the 1940s on the coastline to the east of Manor Road, Studland. The structures consist of: a possible gun emplacement, slit trenching and a barbed wire enclosure.

A group of Second World War structures, probably associated with coastal defence, are visible as structures on aerial photographs of the 1940s on the coastline to the east of Manor Road, Studland. The structures consist of: a possible gun emplacement, slit trenching and a barbed wire enclosure. The enclosure is sub-rectangular in shape and surrounds the three inland sides of the site. There is a gap, or entrance in the centre of the western side with a path running through it. (1-2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
