Monument record MDO3270 - Bowl barrow on Hog Hill, Winterborne St Martin

Bowl barrow 23 metres diameter, 0.3 metres high. Visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs {1}. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

A bowl barrow on Hog Hill, one of a cluster of barrows located to the west and northwest of Maiden Castle. In 1980, the Ordnance Survey described the barrow as an earthwork mound 23 metres in diameter and 0.3 metres high. Neither Grinsell nor the RCHME, in their barrow gazetteers compiled some decades earlier, mentioned this barrow. <5>
