Summary

A roughly rectangular hollow interpreted as a probable pre-war chalk pit. In 1996 test pits dug revealed fillings containing modern brick and slate, suggesting the hollow was filled in relatively recently.

Full Description

In 1996 two test pits were dug to investigate a large sub-rectangular hollow measuring approximately 16m by 13m with a depth of 1.2m. The test pits revealed fillings containing modern brick and tile, suggesting the feature was back filled quite recently. <1>
