Full Description

Excavations at the Glebe, Bridport in 1975 revealed a significant assemblage of pottery and other finds. None of the material was stratified and there was considerable mixing. The pottery included some 12th century sherds as well as post-medieval wares, together with a fragment of 14th century floor tile and an assemblage of clay tobacco pipe dating from the 17th to the 19th century. This material was probably deposited on this site as a result of manuring activity.
