Abstract/Summary

The evaluation of two areas adjacent to the A37 was carried out by mechanically-excavated transects. Area 1, north of Holywell crossroads revealed a single prehistoric pit contining pottery, probably of Middle Bronze Age date, and a negative field lynchet indicative of former agricultural use of the area. No finds or deposits were revealed in Area 2, near Stockwood.
