SWX8617 - The Proposed Redevelopment of the Southwest Quadrant, Bridport: Archaeological and Cultural Heritage Assessment

Results of a largely desk-based archaeological and cultural heritage assessment of the SW quadrant of Bridport. It demonstrated that the study area contained considerable archaeological potential, particularly in relation to the Saxon and medieval town. The study area was crossed by the presumed line of the Saxon defences and includes lanes and thoroughfares of medieval date. The report also included details from the monitoring of geotechical trial trenches across the area.
